How your information is handled

Privacy notice

How A Dark Cloud Creative handles information sent through this website.

Your information

What this notice covers

The enquiry form collects your name, email address, optional phone number, optional business name, selected service and message so we can review and respond to your request. Please leave passwords and sensitive customer information out of the form.

Enquiry information

Enquiries are stored in the website CMS and made available to authorised users. A notification is sent to the business enquiry inbox through the configured email provider. We use the information to respond and discuss the requested work.

We also record the first page you visited, the page you sent the form from, the referring website and the enquiry button or offer you used, where available. Recorded page addresses exclude query strings and fragments. We keep only the referring website's origin, without its page path. Campaign values are stored separately.

This context uses session storage in your browser tab and is submitted with your enquiry. We stop using stored context after seven days. Google click identifiers stay in your browser and are not stored in the enquiry record.

Each enquiry has a reference and submission time. We record your permission to respond and your separate marketing email choice, together with the notice version and time those choices were submitted. Please leave passwords and sensitive customer information out of the form.

Website service providers

Vercel hosts the website and stores uploaded website images. Turso stores CMS content and enquiries in Tokyo, Japan. SMTP2GO handles enquiry notifications and CMS password recovery emails. These providers may process information outside Australia. Contact us before sharing information that needs a particular handling arrangement.

Retention and access

We retain enquiry information while it is needed to respond, manage the work or meet applicable record keeping requirements. You can contact us to ask about information you have supplied or request a correction or deletion. Some records may need to be retained where an obligation applies.

Analytics and changes

The Analytics in use section below lists the measurement tools enabled on this website. These tools receive site actions, such as submitting an enquiry or tapping the phone number, without your name, email address, phone number or enquiry message.

Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing emails. The separate optional checkbox asks whether you want occasional IT tips and offers by email. It starts unticked. We only send marketing emails when you choose this option, and each email identifies the sender and includes a way to unsubscribe. This choice is separate from advertising cookies.

We review this notice before adding advertising tools or changing how information is collected or used.

Keep the first message limited

Send the information needed to explain your request. The enquiry form is not intended for passwords, recovery codes, identity documents or customer records. If the work needs particular information or access, discuss an appropriate method after the scope is agreed.

Screenshots can contain information outside the error you wanted to show. Check for customer names, messages and account details before sharing them.

Ask about information you supplied

Contact hey@adarkcloud.com.au or call 0408 530 303 to ask about an enquiry, correct your contact details or request that information be reviewed for deletion. Include enough context to identify the request, such as the approximate submission date and the email address you used.

We may need to confirm that a request concerns your information before discussing or changing a record. Leave passwords and identity documents out of the first email. We can discuss any information needed to handle the request.

Advertising and how we measure it

We plan to advertise on Google, Facebook and Instagram to reach businesses that need IT help.

When Google Ads conversion tracking is enabled, Google measurement tags use advertising cookies to connect ad clicks with submitted enquiries and taps on the phone number. A phone link click does not tell us whether a call connected. When call reporting is enabled on a Google ad, calls use a Google forwarding number. Google records details such as the caller's area code, the time of the call and its length.

If you send your details through a form on Facebook or Instagram, Meta collects what you enter and passes it to us so we can reply. The Meta Pixel is not installed on this website. We will update this notice before installing it.

Google and Meta may process this information outside Australia, including in the United States. You can control ads personalisation in your Google account and Facebook Ad Preferences. We do not sell your details. We use them to reply to your enquiry and, if you ask us to, send occasional emails.

Analytics in use

The website uses the tools below to understand which pages help visitors. Your name, email address, phone number and message from the enquiry form are never sent to them.

Vercel Web Analytics
Counts page visits, the site a visitor came from, device type and approximate location. It also counts actions on the site, such as taps on the phone number, email address and enquiry buttons, starting and sending the enquiry form, opening a common question, downloading a checklist, following a link to another site, reaching a missing page, using the IT health check, words typed into the service search, and how quickly pages load. It does not use cookies. Visitors are identified by a hash that is discarded after 24 hours, and the reports show totals rather than individuals.
Google Analytics
Uses cookies to measure visits and the same site actions over time. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. You can block its cookies in your browser or use the Google Analytics opt out browser add on.
Google Tag Manager
Loads the Google measurement tags used on this site and receives the same site actions so they can be measured. It does not set cookies itself.
Google Ads conversion tracking
Uses Google measurement tags and advertising cookies to connect ad clicks with submitted enquiries and taps on the phone number. Google may process this information outside Australia, including in the United States. The enquiry form does not send your name, email address, phone number or message to these tags. You can control ads personalisation in your Google account.
ChatGPT Ads measurement
If you choose the optional advertising measurement checkbox, we send OpenAI a successful enquiry event from our server. It contains the event time, our website address, a random reference derived from your enquiry identifier and an ad click reference if one is available in the page address or a previous page on this website. The ad click reference is used only after you choose measurement and is not stored with your enquiry. It excludes your name, email address, phone number, business name and message. We do not install the OpenAI browser pixel or collect customer matching information. This integration sets no OpenAI browser cookies. We opt each event out of future individual advertising personalisation. OpenAI may process the event outside Australia, including in the United States. Measurement stays off unless you choose it, and stays off when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. Your choice is separate from permission to reply and from marketing emails.
Meta advertising measurement
If you choose the optional advertising measurement checkbox, we send Meta a successful enquiry event from our server. It contains the event time, the public form page address, a random reference derived from your enquiry identifier, your IP address and your browser user agent. These help Meta attribute enquiries to advertising. The event excludes your name, email address, phone number, business name and message. We do not install the Meta browser pixel, scan form fields or set Meta browser cookies. Each event is restricted to attribution and excluded from ad delivery optimisation. Meta may process this information outside Australia, including in the United States. Measurement stays off unless you choose it, and stays off when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. Your choice is separate from permission to reply and from marketing emails.
